Verified BBS systems include WWIV, WildCat, GAP, GT, DoorWay, all the
various DorInfo.Def systems (EIS-PC, FoReM, OLEcom, QuickBBS, RBBS,
Remote Access, TAG, and TP-Board), 2 A.M., Forum, ModuleX, Phoenix,
RyBBS, Search Light, and Spitfire BBS, Telegard, Opus-CBCS 1.14, and
PCBoard 14.x. Auntie BBS, and PCBoard 12.x are in need of BETA
testing. Please read BBSNOTES.DOC for more information.
This game supports file sharing/locking. It will give up time to
DESQview, Windows, and any multitasker that plays by MS-DOSs rules.
- BBS notes -> PATHFIND.EXE -
- general info
This program directly accesses the com port and uses ANSI escape
sequences to update the user's screen. This is the fastest and most
complete BBS version. It will run on all BBS systems that I've tried
The default version does not check the player time, or get the player
name from the BBS. Recommendend time allowed is from 25 to 30 minutes.
For proper installation check BBSINFO.DOC.
You will also need to put PATHFIND.INS in the same directory that
PATHFIND.EXE is in.
- BBS Info -> Regisration and Trial Run -
You may try before you buy. Please limit your trial period to
a maximum of two months. This game will not self-destruct, and
I won't send the mafia after you, but we are all in this together.
Regisration costs $10. For that price you will get your own
personalized version of the game featuring your registration number
and BBS info. You will also recieve trial versions of all other
games currently available if you also pay for the diskette option.
- Get to the point -> The game explained -
You are trapped in the upper left hand corner of a maze. The object
is to get to the bottom right hand corner as fast as you can. The
maze is 20x77. You can only see the square you are in (except in Trail
Mode, see next section). For your benefit, if you are in a square
that you have previously been in, the square will be highlighted.
You use the numbers on the number keypad (2,4,6,8) to move down, left,
right, and up. Your final score reflects how long you took to solve
the maze. The computer clock ticks 18.2 times each second, and your
score is the number of clock ticks it took you to finish.
- Novice/Trail Mode -
If the totally blank screen proves to be to difficult, You can play
the game in Trail mode. In this mode, all of the squares that you have
been on stay lit. This makes backtracking from dead end paths easier.
(Too easy, if you ask me.) To enable this easier mode, all you do is
just add "-t" (without the quotes) to the command line. You're all
set. Once you and your users get used to the game, you'll probably
want to remove this option.
- Hall of Fames -
The game creates two Hall of Fame files:
PATHF.HOF
This contains the Hall of Fame. If you get tired of it, just
delete it and start over. The Hall of Fame contains 24 entries,
the all-time high, last month's 3 best, and this month's top 20.
This is NOT a text file.
PATHHOF.TXT
(default names - can be changed - see command line directive /Y)
This file contains the all time high, last months three best, and
the current top ten scores. It is formatted for a one screen
display. Excellent for bulletins, etc...
- Changes -
1.01 - Hall of Fame not being updated bug fixed.
1.02 - Hall of Fame monthly rollover bug fixed.
- That's Not My Table - Tech Talk -

to TEST the program before opening it up to the public. Make sure

If you find another system that this runs on/under that is not
mentioned above, please include that in your regisration. I am
always looking for new systems.
